VHSCA All Star Games Hampton

Anyone going? I'm headed out tomorrow. We usually check out the hoops, baseball, and softball games. I can't even remember who is playing from SWVA. Maybe I can get a photo with one of the Vick's this year.

Perhaps they're parking cars. Or giving handjobs for crack.

I am not suprised the west wont win too many games. In football the west has 11 single A players the east 6 2 from Gretna and 2 from Goochland. The AAA coaches will not send players because they do not like the way Mike Smith runs the games and how much money HE makes off of it.

You mean Mike Smith makes money of that thing? Really? I thought he did it just to showcase the Commonwealth's talent. I heard he makes a bundle.

The East and West finished up with 4 victories each after the All-Star week. West took both basketball games, baseball, and the football game. The East swept the soccer games, volleyball, and won the softball game.

The West edged the East in football, 7-0, Friday night. Powell Valley's Cedric Mitchell (Grossmont Junior College) connected with Amherst County's Derrick McCoy (Va Tech) for the game's only score, on a 17 yard touchdown pass in the 2nd qt. Burton's Ethan Stewart, Richlands' Austin Fuller (Va Tech) and Lebanon's Richard Lockridge (Davidson) also said to have played well.

Re: VHSCA All Star Games Hampton

I'll say this--if Cedric Mitchell goes to Grossmont JC and gets his stuff together (head & athleticism catches up with each other), then he could go to a college somewhere and play very well. He's got tons of potential--it's up to him to go Juco and get things going in the right direction.

He'll get to go against some high-level talent--I know for one team that they play against, El Camino CC, has had some players off both sides of the ball go to D1 schools the past few years, including a senior for Miami this season, WR Kayne Farqhuarson.

Re: VHSCA All Star Games Hampton

I agree that Cedric is a special talent, but it's sad at how many times over the years have we have said that about a kid and the talent goes unused and unrealized.

Prove me wrong Cedric, go to Juco and get those grades right and let us read about you making it somewhere even if it's for the Wyoming Cowboys or the other side of no where....who cares just use what God has given ya.

P.S.
Great job at the all-star game.
